We recognise that a number of our clients and potential clients have major commitments to IBM. Often this is represented by long-term strategic decisions to utilise IBM technologies such as DB/2 throughout their enterprises.
Therefore all Copernicus software has been designed to allow our clients to exercise an open choice of back-end database.
We were very pleased therefore when asked to provide Storebrand, one of Norway’s largest life and pensions product providers, with a version of Copernicus utilising WebSphere at the front-end and DB/2 as its back-end database. This solution was implemented in 2001.
So well has the combination of Copernicus application code combined with IBM’s WebSphere and DB/2 performed that the volumes now being processed at Storebrand on this system are the largest production volumes that we handle.
We are grateful to IBM and also to Accenture for their active support during the implementation of this project for Storebrand.
